AIRPORT 
Cape Town International Airport is approximately a one-hour drive from Franschhoek. It is recommended that you arrive two to three hours prior to the departure of your flight. For airline information, re-confirming flights or reserving an airport transfer from the hotel, please contact our guest assistant by dialling reception.

The popular beaches in and around Cape Town include:

BICYCLES
Franschhoek has several scenic and adventurous biking routes with an interesting stop along the way that makes this the perfect individual, couple or family outing. In our support of local businesses, our biking partner is Franschhoek Cycles. Here you will be fitted with your choice of a road, mountain or e-bike to your exact requirements and guided on the best adventure according to your preferences.

Half-day rates start from R250 and between R350 - R550 for full-day rentals depending on your bicycle selection.

BOKKIE GARDEN
The Afrikaans word “bokkie” means small buck and is also a term of endearment used by South Africans. The beautifully laid out Bokkie Garden at Leeu Estates features an immaculate vineyard and “Reflective Resonance”, which is a powerful piece in bronze by acclaimed sculptor Angus Taylor, as well as “Homecoming”, cast by sculptor Otto du Plessis featuring Diana, the goddess of the forest and animals, walking with a small herd of springbuck.

CHECK-OUT
Our check-out time is 11h00 on the day of departure. Please contact our guest assistant by dialling Reception if your departure time is later than checkout and we will try our utmost to accommodate you.

CHILDREN
Children of all ages are welcome. In order to make their stay more enjoyable, we offer a selection of special amenities including cots and highchairs.

Babysitter services are subject to availability as we outsource these to a third party. Please contact our guest assistant by dialling reception for further details. A 24-hour notice is usually required.

CONCIERGE
Our guest assistant team is able to assist in organizing transportation, tours, tables at Franschhoek’s best restaurants and many other services. Please contact them by dialling reception.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE
We can exchange major international currencies into South African Rand (ZAR). Please see reception for the daily exchange rates.

Please hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign outside your door if you do not want to be disturbed while in your room. Please note that the room attendant will not service your room while the “Do Not Disturb” sign is displayed.

EVERARD READ GALLERY
Everard Read in partnership with Leeu Collection has created two contemporary spaces in Franschhoek. Both spaces showcase carefully curated artworks by both local and international artists including sculpture gardens for monumental works. Adjacent to Le Quartier Français along the main street, Everard Read Franschhoek is interspersed with fresh herbs and vegetables that cater to some of Leeu Collections’ partnered restaurants. And Everard Read Leeu Estates is located on our flagship property that offers spectacular views of the Valley.

GRATUITIES 
If you choose to leave a gratuity at the end of your stay please do so at the front desk and it will be distributed among the staff.

GREAT HEART WINE 
The Great Heart Wine Boutique, home of Great Heart Wines which is a staff empowerment project of Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines, currently offers one complimentary tasting at the boutique per Le Quartier Français and Leeu House guest per stay. For all other guests, these amazing wines are available at Protégé restaurant as part of a set-tasting on their menu. The Boutique recalibrates the notion of a ‘intimate’ and ‘personalised’ wine tasting with availability for a table that sits four guests at a time.

Our tasting venue at Le Quartier Français operates daily:
• Monday to Saturday, 10h00 – 17h00
• Sunday, 10h00 – 16h00

GYM
Situated at Leeu Estates next to the pool at Leeu Spa by Healing Earth, the gym features equipment by TechnoGym, which is renowned for its state-of-the-art design and cutting-edge technology. The gym is open daily from 07h00 to 19h00 and a gym attendant will be available for any assistance required. 

Personal training, pilates and yoga are by appointment only and require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to book and confirm. To make an appointment, please contact the spa by dialling Spa. The gym is open daily from 07h00 to 19h00.

HOUSEKEEPING & VALET
Please advise should you require any specific housekeeping services. A laundry service is available, and items will be returned within 24 hours. Dry-cleaning will take five working days. Please note that because both our laundy and dry-cleaning are outsourced we recommend that you refrain from including delicate items. To arrange for collection and pressing services, please contact our guest assistant by dialling reception. Please note that these services are available at an additional cost.

INCOMING CALLS
Please advise our guest assistant by dialling reception if you would like your incoming calls to be diverted when you do not want to be disturbed. If you are leaving your room but need to be contacted in another part of the hotel, please advise our guest assistant as to your location by dialling reception.

INDABA - THE MEETING PLACE
Meaning “discussion” or “meeting” in Zulu, Indaba – The Meeting Place is a well-appointed event and meeting venue situated at Leeu Estates with lovely mountain, valley and vineyard views.

It has its own its own lift and boasts audio and video conferencing equipment, a 203-centimetre (80-inch) screen and high-speed Wi-Fi, making it the making it the perfect venue for business and board meetings as well as conferences for Leeu Collection guests.

IN-ROOM DINING
In-room dining is available 24 hours per day, with a limited offering Between 22h00 and 07h00. Place your order by dialling reception.

LOST PROPERTY

#LEEULOCALLYGROWN
In August 2019, the Leeu edible garden initiative was started. Under the guidance of Christine Stevens, a series of vegetable, herb and fruit gardens were planted on the Leeu estate in Franschhoek to supply the restaurants, hotel and spa. All the produce on the property is grown following natural farming principles, no pesticides or herbicides are used to ensure the finest tastiest vegetables and herbs are available for the chefs.

Carefully selected heirloom seeds have been sourced and planted in the gardens and the enclosed temperature-controlled tunnel to ensure the restaurants and hotel have access to the freshest seasonal produce. Whether it be strawberries, heritage tomatoes, or baskets of herbs, each morning fresh seasonal produce is harvested and sent immediately to the kitchens.

Seeds from the most popular vegetables are saved for future seasons and all waste is composted to ensure the gardens are sustainable as possible.

Leeu Collection South Africa only makes provision for guide or service dogs, subject to prior arrangement, please contact our Reservations Department for further assistance.

SWIMMING POOL
Our swimming pools are open from 07h00 until sunset. Changing rooms and towels are available. Please note that children under the age of 16, learners and non-swimmers must be supervised by an adult. Light snacks and refreshments are on offer.

TAXIS & PRIVATE TRANSFERS
Should you require a taxi or a private transfer, please contact our guest assistant by dialling reception. Complimentary scheduled shuttles are available between our sister properties.

THE WINE STUDIO
Chris and Andrea Mullineux are the award-winning winemaking team behind the success of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines.

Our tasting venue at Leeu Estates operates daily:

• November to Easter 09h30 – 18h00, last tasting at 17h00. (high season)
• Easter to November 09h30 – 17h00, last tasting at 16h00. (low season)

TRAILS
