CLIMATE The Lake District has a generally mild maritime climate characterised by ample rainfall. Winters are wet with some snow , and summers are relatively dry by comparison (average temperatures range from 0°C/32°F in January to 19°C/66°F in July). WHAT TO PACK : Layering is the way to go as the weather is unpredictable and can change rapidly in both summer and winter. Comfortable, sturdy shoes, a fleece and a waterproof jacket are recommended if you plan to go walking. Summer: c ool, light clothing, along with a sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and at least one warm sweater as the weather is changeable. Light jackets or jerseys a re recommended for the evenings. The team, led by Executive Chef Paul Burgalières and Head Chef Mark McCabe, has created a set and a tasting menu, which stay true to Simon Rogan's farm - to - table ethos and deep - rooted respect for natural ingredients. Much of the produce comes from Simon's f arm, Our Farm, located just a few miles away in the Cartmel Valley, whil e flavours and techniques are inspired by his travels to his international restaurants in Hong Kong, Malta , and Phuket.
